I bought this slow cooker since I recently got married and my hubby likes food cooked in a slow coker. I have a one quart that worked for me and Mom but it’s way to small, so I needed a bigger one. I am quite happy with it and it’s cooking right now! I also order the *Not Your Mother’s Slow Cooker* cookbook and together, I’ll be doing some excelent meals!

I bought this thinking I would like it and I didn’t find anything in it worth cooking….

While this cookbook has some interesting recipes, it is really lacking on the nutritional information of the recipes. Calories per serving, fat grams, fiber, nothing… Dieters beware.

The “not your mother’s” part of this book is that all the recipes involve some kind of weird liquor that you probably don’t have in the house. Other than that, the recipes are fairly bland.

I’m not impressed with the cookbook at all. When I saw it on Amazon I couldn’t wait to order it because it really looked good and had pretty much good reviews.

I only found about 4-5 recipes in the entire book that I’d make. I’m not a gourmet chef but I am a simple home cook, I like ingredients that you can use over and over again. In every recipe in this book there are ingredients that are not only expensive but that I’d probably only use once or twice ever! I hate that!

This book is going right back up for sale, I guess I need to research the cookbooks a bit more before I jump in and buy them!!
