Winter vegetable soup

Ingredients:
3 turnips scraped and sliced
3 carrots scraped and sliced
3 onions peeled and cut.
Bunch of celery
3 leeks cut in pieces
One clove of garlic
2 stalks of parsley
2 cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon of pepper
Salt to taste
2.5 litres water
Method:
1. Heat butter in a saucepan. Fry turnips, carrots and onions until light brown.
2. Add celery and leeks and stir for 5 to 6 minutes. Add garlic, parsley, cloves, salt and pepper and nutmeg. Cover with the water and simmer for 2 hour.
3. Blend in a food processor.
4. Add Croutons while serving.
